Viognier 2003
In contrast to the demure Pinot and Chardonnay family, Viognier
yields huge thick-skinned bunches - 180-250gms - that ripen to an
apricot hue. The wine is so exotic and yet subtle – smells
like when apricot massage oil meets Seville orange marmalade. Palate
is very long, slippery with Ottoman spice notes. Slightly firm finish,
evidence of the late harvest date. $35 LIMITED STOCKS

T'Gallant forged the way with this unwooded
Chardonnay style. Pristine, vibrant, full middle palate and lovely
long dry finish. Delicious to drink as a young wine but will develop
over time. The most important ingredient is the best fruit - chardonnay
from a maritime climate that upon picking is flavour ripe whist
still retaining natural acid, low Ph and finesse. A great wine to
buy a case of and drink with prawns and steaks over the next 5 years...
