Both locally and internationally Wolf Blass has received some great reviews for
products released this year, particularly for the Wolf Blass Grey Label range:
Wolf Blass 2002 Grey Label Cabernet Sauvignon:
This wine reeks of its Langhorne Creek origins, with blackcurrant, eucalypt, mint
and dark chocolate on the nose and palate with fine tannins and toasty oak. Great
now with roast lamb, it´ll take several years in a bottle.
(Mike Frost, Courier Mail, 17/4/2004)
Wolf Blass 2002 Grey Label Cabernet Sauvignon:
The minty smells of the Langhorne Creek fruit really attack from the outset.
This is a classy wine showing some exceptional fruit qualities that are expertly
crafted into a complete package. A super wine.
(Ray Jordan, The West Australian, 22/4/2004) Score: 91/100
Wolf Blass 2002 Grey Label Shiraz:
This wine is another example of the finessing of the Wolf Blass reds. The oak
is still there for the fans of the ´old´ style, but it´s a lot less obvious.
The skin tannins are supremely fine and the fruit is ultra fresh. A beautifully
crafted red.

WINE SPECTATOR North America´s most eminent wine magazine recently reviewed
the following Wolf Blass wines:
Wolf Blass 2000 Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz: 92 points
This has a lot going for it, especially the way the Shiraz fattens up
the Cabernet. Ripe and welcoming, it´s a smooth-textured, lithe red that offers
black cherry, raspberry, mint and licorice flavours. It finishes a tad hot,
but a little food will balance that. The flavours linger impressively. Drink
now through to 2015.
Wolf Blass 2002 Gold Label Shiraz: 91 points
"...aims for a gentle, relatively delicate style and achieves it without
losing the round, velvety and generous character
of Barossa Shiraz. It´s not typical, but it´s a honey, with smoky blackberry
and tar flavours, gently balanced with tangy
acidity. The emphasis is on the berry and spice that linger on the finish."
Wolf Blass 2003 Gold Label Chardonnay: 92 points
A gentle style with rich pear, cream and mineral flavours that sneak up and
wash over the long, finish like an ocean swell.
