The McGuigan name is synonymous with wine in Australia’s famous Hunter Valley region. After a long association with winemaking in the region, Neil McGuigan recently became head winemaker at Rothbury Estate. He held winemaking positions with Wyndham Estate Wines through the eighties and early nineties before joining his brothers, Brian and Ross, in the establishment of the McGuigan Brothers label in 1992. In 1994 Neil became the part owner and winemaker for Briar Ridge Vineyard which is consider one of the top five boutique brands in the Hunter Valley. In August 2000, Neil became the Head Winemaker at Rothbury Estate and will oversee the continued development of this famous Hunter Valley winery.
